The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has approved 888’s VHL Michigan subsidiary as the new platform provider for the Hannahville Indian Community’s internet casino website.
Under the arrangement, VHL Michigan will support the tribe, which operates the Island Resort and Casino, with its igaming site that runs under the Sports Illustrated brand.
The deal came about after Churchill Downs Incorporated’s TwinSpires B2B sports betting business, the original platform provider for both online casino gaming and internet sports betting to the Hannahville tribe, withdrew from the agreement last July.
VHL Michigan became the tribe’s internet sports betting provider in September, with the latest arrangement an extension of this partnership.
Twin Spires no longer offers online gaming or internet sports betting in Michigan.
“I wish the Hannahville tribe continued success as they once again may offer their customers both internet gaming and internet sports betting in Michigan,” MGCB executive director Henry Williams said.
“The MGCB shall ensure the conduct of fair and honest gaming to protect the interests of the citizens of the State of Michigan.”
