Continent 8 to open Atlantic City datacenter

News

Network solutions provider Continent 8 will open a new datacenter later today (June 10), with which it aims to make New Jersey largest hub for online gaming, sports betting, and esports in the US.

The datacenter, located in the Atlantic City Convention Center, has been created in partnership with the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Authority (CRDA).

It will provide direct connectivity to Continent 8’s private global network, spanning more than 30 locations across Europe, Asia, and North and South America.

As well as increasing the supplier’s capacity in New Jersey, where Continent 8 already maintains datacenters in Newark and the Ocean Resort Casino, it will also provide connectivity to states such as Mississippi, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

This will be supported by a secure data redundancy and disaster recovery facility, to protect customers’ online operations.

The new facility will be opened by Continent 8 chief executive Michael Tobin and Assemblyman John Burizchelli, who served as the primary sponsor of the legislation that allowed an independent datacenter to be established.
