Betfred USA Sports has opened its sportsbook at the Silver Reef Casino Resort in Washington.
The sportsbook facility, which will occupy the space formerly occupied by a bar, will include multiple high resolution video walls, sportsbook seating, multiple betting stations and self-serve kiosks alongside food and beverage.
Silver Reef Casino Resort, which is operated by the Lummi Nation, is located between Seattle and Vancouver. It features more than 1,000 slots, 206 hotel rooms and an 18-hole championship golf course.
The Betfred Sportsbook was opened on 31 August with the honorary first bet made by Warren Moon, former National Football League quarterback with the Houston Oilers and Minnesota Vikings.
Bryan Bennett, Betfred USA Sports chief operating officer, said: “We look forward to utilizing our 50 years of bookmaking experience to make the Betfred Sportsbook at Silver Reef Casino Resort the go-to destination for sports wagering in the state.
“We’ve long been eyeing the state of Washington and are excited to enter the market in partnership with Lummi Nation and the team at Silver Reef Casino.”
On-site sports betting was legalized in Washington in 2021 after the state agreed new compacts with a number of tribes, who were previously the only groups that could offer gambling services in the state. In addition to retail wagering, operators may also offer mobile bets, but only at their properties.
Betfred is already a licensed operator in Arizona, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Louisiana and Colorado, with Ohio, Nevada, Maryland and Virginia pending regulatory approval.
Marty Sauvage, chief executive of Silver Reef Casino Resort, said: “We are extremely excited about opening and operating the sportsbook with our partner Betfred.
“The sportsbook will be a fantastic new amenity for our guests and will enable us to continue delivering the premier gaming and resort experience in the Northwest.”
