Delaware sports betting and igaming revenue increase in December

The Delaware Lottery reported year-on-year increases in both sports betting and igaming revenue in December.

Online gambling revenue during the month amounted to $1.2m, up 56.4% from $751,291 in December of 2021 and also 19.0% up from $987,423 in November 2022.

Some $890,894 of revenue in December was attributed to video lottery games, $243,899 table games and the remaining $80,007 poker rake and fees.

Consumers wagered a total of $44.3m on igaming during the month, including $24.0m on video lottery games and $20.3m on table games.

Delaware Park was the most successful of the state’s three operators, posting $569,366 in revenue from $14.7m in total wagers. Bally’s Dover was second with revenue of $351,514 from $17.6m in customer spend, then Harrington Raceway on $253,920 from $11.8m.

Turning to sports betting and net proceeds for December reached $1.4m, a jump of 360.1% from $296,809 in the previous year and also 6.7% ahead of $1.4m in November 2022.

Handle for the month was $8.2m, up 9.3% year-on-year, while players won a total of $6.1m.

Delaware Park was also top in this area of the state’s market, posting $228,075 worth of net proceeds from a $2.0m handle. Bally’s Dover was next with $114,892 in revenue off $1.0m in wagers, then Harrington Raceway on $82,760 from $711,730 worth of bets.

It was also noted that retailers generated $941,650 in revenue from $4.4m in wagers.
