Sports wagering revenue in New Hampshire increased both month-on-month and year-on-year in May despite another drop in handle.
Player spending for the month amounted to $52.1m, a 31.6% decline from $76.2m in the same month last year and also 20.0% lower than $65.1m in April this year.
Of this total, $46.4m was spent betting on sports online, while the remaining $5.7m was wagered at retail sportsbooks in the state.
However, despite a decline in handle, gross gaming revenue from sports betting during the month increased.
The $7.0m generated by operators in May was 22.8% higher than $5.7m in May 2022 and 2.9% ahead of $6.8m in April.
Online betting accounted for $6.1m of all revenue for the month, while $914,424 came from retail wagering.
Official figures published by the NH Lottery also showed that operators paid $3.1m in sports betting tax during the month.
For the year to date, handle in the 11 months to the end of May stood at $844.4m, with revenue at $76.6m and tax contributions $34.9m.
