Kresimir Spajic will lead Betfred USA as its new chief executive.
Spajic will oversee the sportsbook’s strategy and operations across 10 US states. Betfred is licensed to operate in Nevada, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Louisiana, Arizona, Iowa, Washington, Virginia, Ohio and Maryland.
Spajic’s track record includes executive and principal consulting roles at several major gambling businesses. These include Great Canadian Entertainment, Apollo Global Management, Hard Rock International, Rush Street Interactive, Borgata and Bwin.
“I’m truly excited to embark on this journey as the CEO of Betfred USA,” he said.
“I am looking forward to working with our exceptional domestic and global talent and partners. Together, we aim to build a sustainable business in the US by delivering unparalleled value and support to our customers.”
He also said that Betfred USA will uphold “a strong commitment to responsible gaming”.
In February, Betfred opened its first retail sportsbook in Nevada at Mohegan Casino inside Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. At the same time, the operator secured a license to offer online sports betting in Maryland.
