News

Global network and cloud infrastructure solutions provider Continent 8 Technologies and online gaming software developer Iforium have expanded their partnership to pursue new opportunities in the US market.

Under the extended deal, Iforium will become the first tenant at Continent 8’s new data center at the Atlantic City Convention Center in New Jersey. Opened in June, the facility is the first purpose built data center in Atlantic City.

Over the past 12 months, Continent 8 has increased its US multi-state capacities to include Indiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, while plans are in place to also add locations in Florida, Illinois, Iowa, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Oregon and Tennessee.

Iforium in July secured a transactional waiver from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and has since gone live with its first operator in the state. The waiver also permits Iforium to provide licensed operators with its Gameflex casino platform that hosts more than 9,000 games from over 100 third-party suppliers.

“Our presence in the US online gaming market is growing rapidly and Continent 8 are providing the gateway with their state-of-the-art data centre in Atlantic City,” Iforium chief executive Phil Parry said. “It’s an exciting time for Iforium.”

Michael Tobin, co-founder and chief executive of Continent 8, added: “Iforium is a long-standing Continent 8 client, but today’s announcement represents a significant strengthening of our business relationship, and a major step forward in terms of Continent 8’s commitment to the emerging US market.”

Meanwhile, Continent 8 has appointed Brian Borysewich as its chief information security officer. Borysewich has held leadership roles at both eBay and PayPal during his time as a cyber security professional.

He has also spent time working with US Government intelligence agencies and is a a former Black Hat and Anonymous hacker, who has since used his experience to provide companies, governments, and educational institutions with methods and techniques to protect valuable assets and data.

Tobin said: “Brian has been globally recognized as a cyber security practice leader. His accomplishments and leadership have helped companies and governments around the world protect both brand and financial resources.”
