FanDuel to launch mobile sportsbook in Indiana

News

FanDuel has been granted authorization to launch mobile sports betting in Indiana, effective today (22 October).

FanDuel will operate mobile sports betting in partnership with Blue Chip Casino. The operator already runs the sportsbook at Blue Chip’s land-based facility at Michigan City in the state.

While mobile sports betting has been legal since September 1 in Indiana, the same day retail sports betting launched, authorization for operators has taken longer. FanDuel will be just the third operator to offer a mobile betting product in the state.

Rush Street Interactive launched its BetRivers.com brand in conjunction with French Lick Casino on October 3, while fellow daily fantasy sports giant DraftKings launched on October 4.

FanDuel launched its mobile sportsbook in Pennsylvania in July and in West Virginia in August. The operator also made a major move in Indiana earlier this month when it announced a partnership with National Football League (NFL) franchise the Indianapolis Colts.

In its first month since launch, which did not include any mobile betting, sports betting in Indiana took in a combined revenue of $35.2m. Blue Chip casino handled $3.9m of wagers and reported adjusted gross receipts of $957,470, paying $90,690 in gaming tax.
