The Delaware Sports Lottery has revealed that the state saw a year-on-year. increase in sports wagering revenue for March, by 27.1% to $966,752.
While this figure is still shy of the $1.7m posted in January, it is a 40.9% increase compared to March 2020.
Though revenue increased, Delaware saw a handle decrease for a second consecutive month; the figure posted was $6.7m which represents an 8.8% decrease from February and a 42.8% decrease from January. However, handle was almost double that of March 2020, when sports betting options were limited by the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Customers won a total of $5.6m in March, after placing 192,725 bets.
Delaware Park was the most successful operator for the month, taking in $521,308 from $3.6m worth of wagers.
Harrington Raceway came in second with $248,200 from $1.7m in wagers, ahead of Dover Downs in third having made $197,244 from $1.3m worth of wagers.
