Online gambling operator PointsBet has appointed Aaron O’Sullivan, formerly of Bet365 and Rank Group, as its vice president of online casino revenue and to oversee North American operations.
In his new role, O’Sullivan will sit on the operator’s US executive leadership team and report to PointsBet US chief executive Johnny Aitken
O’Sullivan joins PointsBet having most recently served as head of games at Bet365, prior to which he was commercial director at Boylesports.
Earlier in his career, he spent over four-and-a-half years with Rank Group, first serving as its head of digital marketing, before going to become head of marketing for digital.
He also had a spell as account manager for Playtech, marketing manager at Jackpot Games and e-gaming marketing manager for 32Red.
“PointsBet’s long-term vision and strategy to igaming gives me great confidence – the in-house tech foundation means online casino, and the company as a whole, can quickly adapt to the demands of the consumer in the growing, fast-paced North American market,” O’Sullivan said.
“The opportunity is enormous, and I think PointsBet is fantastically positioned to be a very legitimate player.”
Aitken added: “Adding best-in-class talent to realize the power of best-in-class technology is an important directive for the PointsBet team as we continue to grow and execute, and we are excited today to strengthen our online casino operation with the addition of Aaron O’Sullivan – a proven leader with extensive industry expertise.
“Aaron’s reputation speaks for itself, and his understanding of the current North American online casino landscape as well as his knowledge of best practices to achieve success will be of great benefit to the company as we continue to scale and realize the growing igaming opportunity.”
The appointment comes after PointsBet also agreed a deal with the Cliff Castle Casino Hotel venue in Arizona to secure market access in the US state.
The 10-year deal will see PointsBet and Cliff Castle, a subordinate economic organization of the federally recognized Yavapai-Apache Nation tribe, pursue online sports wagering in Arizona.
