Video game wagering platform provider PLLAY Labs has appointed former Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) chairman and state senator Mark Lipparelli to its strategic advisory board.
Lipparelli, currently chairman and chief executive of Gioco Ventures, joins Philadelphia-headquartered PLLAY as it scales to support growth and demand for its artificial intelligence (AI) driven platform.
Lipparelli served on the NGCB from 2009 to 2012 and was a member of the Nevada State Senate from 2014 to 2016.
“Mark has a unique perspective having served in multiple leadership roles for over 25 years in the regulated gaming industry. He is viewed as a trusted advisor and a visionary,” said Shawn Gunn, chief executive of PLLAY Labs.
“He increases our strategic and regulatory knowledge exponentially, while helping us shape the future.”
As well as his current roles with Gioco, the Nevada gaming licensee that manages the Westgate Resort and the Superbook sports book brand, Lipparelli is also managing member of CAMS, a technology services provider to the online gaming industry.
“PLLAY has been extremely intentional in developing a scalable, trusted and transparent ecosystem for their gamers,” said Lipparelli. “They have a global opportunity to move the industry forward with innovative technology and a new demographic of customers.”
PLLAY last year closed a $3m seed funding round led by Screen Play Ventures as well as NBA All-Star Bradley Beal.
