Sports betting operator FanDuel has appointed media personality Craig Carton as the company’s responsible gaming ambassador.
Problem gambling advocate Carton, who hosts the Carton and Roberts radio show, will focus on advocacy, prevention awareness and content development in his new role.
In addition to joining FanDuel’s responsible gaming steering committee, Carton will also regularly speak at events which promote responsible gambling education. He will also develop and distribute content via his “Hello, My Name is Craig” program.
Carton said: “My story and personal history with gambling has been well documented. More than ever, I want to use my experience and platform to shine a meaningful spotlight on the issue of problem gambling.
“It was important to me that I find a real partnership with a company that shared my passion for this issue. It became clear FanDuel shared the same goals and was comfortable working transparently with me for the sole purpose of protecting people.”
FanDuel became the first mobile sportsbook operator to sign up to the American Gaming Association’s responsible gambling campaign earlier this year.
