Gambling operator BetMGM has announced the launch of a new mobile sportsbook app in Mississippi, allowing players to place mobile-on-premise wagers via a partnership with the Gold Strike Casino Resort.
The BetMGM app will use geolocation technology to enable Gold Strike guests to place pre-game, live in-play, futures and parlay wagers from any mobile device while on the casino floor.
This will include at the casino’s BetMGM Book Bar & Grill, where BetMGM already operates a land-based sportsbook.
The app will also be integrated with MGM Resorts’ M life Rewards program, meaning users can redeem their gameplay for experiences at MGM properties across the US, including Gold Strike and Beau Rivage in Mississippi, as well as the Bellagio and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“We’ve had great success with the opening of the BetMGM Book Bar & Grill at Gold Strike and are thrilled to complement our retail offering with the launch of the BetMGM mobile app in Mississippi,” BetMGM chief executive Adam Greenblatt said.
“Sports fans at MGM’s world-class Tunica resort can now use their mobile devices to engage with the teams they love, while earning rewards for their gameplay.”
The launch comes as BetMGM faces an uncertain future after FanDuel last week submitted a $22bn takeover proposal for Entain. MGM co-owns the BetMGM joint venture 50:50 with Entain.
MGM said it had no intention of selling its stake in BetMGM.
