SIS targets US growth with new subsidiary

News

Live betting and affiliate services supplier Sports Information Services (SIS) is to launch a new subsidiary in the US to support its expansion plans in the country.

SIS Content Services will offer a range of products and services for sportsbook operators and racetracks, covering both the online and retail markets.

This will include a full turnkey solution of real-time data and video feeds, trading services and liability management for sportsbooks, in relation to the supplier’s portfolio of more than 30,000 horse races, 38,000 greyhound races and 100,000 esports events.

For racetracks, SIS will provide fixed-odds distribution of its racing content both from the US and worldwide.

“SIS will provide customers with access to the world’s best horse racing content, thirty years of distribution experience, and turnkey technology with the capacity to generate new revenues both on and off-track,” SIS chief executive and SIS Content Services president, Richard Ames, said.

“Our offering comes with all the products and services required to satisfy stakeholders across the industry and will add significant value to their own proposition.”

SIS Content Services will be led by racing consultant and former Sportech executive Michele Fischer, while the subsidiary will make also a number of additional appointments in the coming months.

“We have seen an explosion in sports betting in regulated states in the last few years,” Fischer said. “The time is now for US racing and all its stakeholders to be an active participant and reap the benefits of that growth as well.”

The launch of the new subsidiary comes SiS earlier this week also announced a “significant investment” in Australian racing data science business Racelab Global.

SIS did not disclose financial details of the deal but did state that the investment would give it access to a range of next generation technology products and services that will benefit its customers.
