Sportradar has secured an online gaming service provider license in the state of Connecticut and renewed its sports wagering supplier license in West Virginia, while the provider also struck new integrity deals with two European basketball organizations.
Connecticut opened its legal retail and online betting in October 2021, while West Virginia was one of first states to legalize sports betting after the repeal of PASPA, launching its market in August of 2018.
The licenses will enable Sportradar to offer sports data and related services in both states.
“As sports betting legalization accelerates in the US, strong and transparent data will help govern the growing industry expansion in a sustainable and ethical manner,” Sportradar US chief executive Arne Rees said.
“These licenses underscore Sportradar’s commitment to the US market, our leadership in integrity and the value of our products and services.”
Meanwhile, Sportradar entered into new integrity partnerships with the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) and the Slovak Basketball Association (SBA).
Both the BBL and SBA will now gain access to Sportradar Integrity Services’ Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS). Sportradar offers UFDS free-of-charge as part of its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of global sport.
The BBL deal runs for two years and will see Sportradar Integrity Services monitor the BBL and Magenta Sport BBL-Pokal competitions, covering more than 350 matches.
The deal also gives BBL access to services such as Sportradar Integrity Services’ Intelligence & Investigation and Education & Prevention solutions.
For the SBA, Sportradar will monitor all matches in both the men’s and women’s Slovak Basketball Leagues, as well as the Slovak Basketball Cup.

“We have a proven track record in sports integrity and the depth of our bet monitoring capabilities will be a notable addition to both the BBL’s and the SBA’s overall integrity programmes.”
