BetMGM has announced the signing of former National Football League (NFL) player Chris Johnson as its latest brand ambassador.
The agreement will see Johnson feature in marketing campaigns, promotions, social media content and fan events.
Johnson, a running back who played for the Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals, spent 10 seasons in the NFL. BetMGM said the partnership would focus primarily on those states.
During the 2009 campaign, Johnson rushed for 2,006 yards for the Titans, making him one of only eight players to eclipse 2,000 rushing yards in a single season, and earning him the nickname ‘CJ2K’.
“I’m excited to join the BetMGM team and to have a new platform to engage with CJ2K fans around the country,” Johnson said. “BetMGM is at the forefront of the excitement surrounding sports betting and is a perfect fit for me to get involved in this rapidly growing industry.”
BetMGM’s chief revenue officer Matt Prevost added: “Throughout his career, Chris Johnson thrilled fans with his performance on the football field, week in and week out. As we continue to expand BetMGM’s presence in Arizona and Tennessee, Chris will play a key role in helping us provide new and engaging experiences for our customers.”
Johnson joins a roster of other BetMGM brand ambassadors, including National Basketball Association Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett, National Hockey League legend Wayne Gretzky and comedian Bill Burr.
