Rush Street’s Rivers Casino Pittsburgh has opened a new sportsbook lounge facility at PPG Paints Arena, the home of Pennsylvania-based National Hockey League franchise the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The space, which opened on April 24 for the Penguins’ game against the New Jersey Devils, features ticketed bowl seats, lounge area, bar top, video screens and streaming odds boards.
Guests with a BetRivers.com account can watch and wager on a range of sports events at the facility, though this will be limited to betting on mobile via the Rush Street Interactive-run BetRivers Pennsylvania app.
The new lounge forms part of a wider deal agreed between the Penguins and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh in September of last year.
Aside from the in-arena facility, Rivers Casino and BetRivers now benefit from branding placement inside PPG Paints Arena, while the two brands have been designated as the official casino and official sportsbook of the team, respectively.
“The BetRivers Lounge symbolizes our strong partnership with the Penguins, five-time Stanley Cup champions, and our commitment to Pittsburgh sports generally,” Rush Street Interactive chief operating officer Mattias Stetz said.
“The new lounge enhances the experience of watching live and wagering in real-time. We are proud to be the exclusive sportsbook of this winning franchise.”
Penguins’ president and chief executive David Morehouse added: “The BetRivers Lounge is yet another investment delivered under our Rivers partnership to enhance fan experiences inside PPG Paints Arena.
“The lounge will provide a safe and exciting space for fans to enjoy an innovative and multimedia experience while attending Pens games and other live sporting events year-round.”
Rush Street Interactive was the first online gambling operating to launch online sports wagering in Pennsylvania, while the brand also runs online sportsbooks in Illinois, New Jersey, Indiana, Virginia, Iowa, Michigan and Colorado.
