Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) has launched a BetAmerica-branded sportsbook at Rising Star Casino Resort in Rising Sun, Indiana.
The deal was facilitated by an agreement struck between CDI and Rising Star’s operator, Full House Resorts, in September this year.
“We are excited to deliver a state-of-the-art sports wagering product to the residents of Indiana,” CDI chief executive Bill Carstanjen said.
“Our experience as the leader in online wagering in the U.S. will enable us to offer our customers the very best mobile and in-venue sports betting experience.
The 3,000 square foot sportsbook will include more than 30 television screens and 16 automated betting kiosks.
The Rising Star Casino Resort is located on the Indiana-Kentucky border and 40 miles from Cincinnati, Ohio, which may allow for further traffic from two states that have not yet legalised sports betting.
“We are thrilled to offer our premier sports betting platform to Indiana residents and visitors from nearby states,” BetAmerica President Ian Williams said.
In a separate deal between CDI and Full House Resorts, CDI may also offer sports betting at Full House Resorts’ Bronco Billy’s Casino and Hotel in Cripple Creek, Colorado and take online sports bets statewide when sports betting launches in the Colorado.
Sports betting in Colorado was approved earlier this month through a referendum and will launch in May 2020.
In October, CDI reported a 38.4% year-on-year increase in revenue in the third quarter of its financial year, to $306.3m. This, it said, was driven by the expansion of its bricks and mortar estate over the past year.
