DraftKings and Boston Red Sox enter fantasy sports partnership

News

The Boston Red Sox and DraftKings have entered into a deal that will see DraftKings become the exclusive Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) betting partner of the team.

The Red Sox will promote DraftKings as its DFS partner through emails, on social media and on the Red Sox Foundation website.

The DraftKings brand will also feature as title sponsorship for the 50-50 raffle for all home games and on raffle tickets, paddleboards and email blasts.

“We are thrilled to team up with a historic franchise like the Red Sox and bring DraftKings closer to this passionate fanbase, which is even more special given our hometown Boston roots,” said Ezra Kucharz, chief business officer of DraftKings.

“As a Boston-born company, we are well-acquainted with the devotion of Boston sports fans, and we believe the engagement possibilities of this integration are only just beginning.”

The deal will also involve multi-channel exposure and will see DraftKings’ brand logos displayed in Fenway Park, alongside its existing branding above the “Green Monster” seating area.

DraftKings branding will feature on field-level home plate signage and LED boards around the stadium.

“Since 2015, we have worked closely with DraftKings and are pleased to now have this Boston-based company on board as our official daily fantasy sports partner,” said Troup Parkinson, Red Sox EVP of partnerships.

“With millions participating in the world of fantasy sports, this partnership positions us well to grow our game and engage with our fans on a trusted platform. We look forward to deepening our partnership in the years ahead.”

Last week, a bill that aims to introduce sports betting in Massachusetts passed the state House and will move on for approval from the Committee on Senate Ways and Means. To progress, the state Senate must approve its own version of the bill.

Earlier this month, DraftKings became the first operator to receive a DFS license in Louisiana.
