Fox Bet has hailed its early progress, which has seen real-money wagering launched in two key states, and the nationwide rollout of a free-to-play predictions game.
Fox Bet’s mobile offering first went live in New Jersey on 5 September, before launching in Pennsylvania days later. This was followed by the launch of Fox Sports Super 6 for players in all states, the second component of the 25-year partnership struck by The Stars Group and Fox Sports in May this year.
“In just four months since announcing our historic US media and sports wagering relationship, we successfully launched our FOX Bet products in two states and our nationwide free-to-play games,” Fox Bet chief executive Robin Chhabra said.
“The pace of progress and the dedication and execution of our team and the FOX Sports team is extraordinary.
“Together with Fox Sports, an icon in sports programming, we believe we’ve built a platform that is like nothing US sports fans have ever seen,” he continued. “We’re bringing those fans closer to the games they love by making our platform more fun and engaging than any other out there.”
While the Super 6 game only went live on 7 September, it has been downloaded more than 280,000 times, with more than 420,000 contest entries made through the app. It has already risen to one of the top twenty apps in the Apple App Store’s games tag, and in the top ten of the tab’s sports sub-section.
Super 6 allows fans to enter predictions contests for the chance of winning prizes of up to $250,000. The game sees users choose the winning teams, and the margin of victory, or answer six multiple choice questions to enter the prize draws.
In addition to the launch of the online games, The Stars Group has opened its first retail sportsbook in Pennsylvania. The sports betting lounge, at the Mount Airy Casino Resort, opened its doors on 9 September.
