Fox Bet, the sports betting joint venture between The Stars Group and broadcaster Fox Sports, has been named an authorized gaming partner of Major League Baseball (MLB) in the US.
This sees Fox Bet gain the right to use the league’s official data feed and trademarks for both its real-money wagering app and free-to-play product Fox Sports Super 6.
The pair will also collaborate on developing responsible gaming controls to protect players, as well as developing best-in-class practices to uphold the integrity of MLB games.
The league’s executive vice president of gaming and new business Kenny Gersh said the agreement would ensure fans have a choice of partners in the market. It has already signed up the likes of DraftKings, FanDuel and MGM Resorts as authorized partners.
The Stars Group would be able to use the league’s data and statistics to build “unique and engaging” gaming products based around baseball, Gersh added.
The deal further strengthens Fox Bet’s presence in the US market. It has already launched in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and claims that the Fox Sports Super 6 game – which is available nationwide – was downloaded more than 280,000 times in the first ten days after its launch.
“We continue to see a great appetite for the FOX Bet app as well as FOX Sports Super 6,” Fox Bet chief executive Robin Chhabra commented.
“Having a partnership with MLB enables us to use official MLB data and league marks, providing a better experience for our customers and comes just in time as the League Championship Series and the World Series kick into high gear.”
