Swedish igaming hosting business Internet Vikings has expanded its presence in the US market after launching in Illinois.
The rollout is in line with Illinois law, which states that igaming service providers such as Internet Vikings can offer services in the state without first having to secure any kind of license.
Instead, providers must have a client to work with in the state. Internet Vikings has deals in place with two unnamed operators in Illinois, one of which is an extension of partnership in another state.
Real-money online casino gaming is not yet legal in Illinois, but social casinos are permitted.
Internet Vikings is now active in a total of 18 states across the US including West Virginia, Colorado and New Jersey, with plans to launch in other markets where forms of igaming is legal.
“As a business we are both proud and very eager to see how rapidly we are keeping up our rate of expansion in the US,” Internet Vikings’ head of US Elena Kvakova said. “We have no intention of slowing our pace until we have secured a base in all of the 21 states where igaming has been legalized.”
