Sports betting spend in Iowa fell for the third consecutive month in June, while the state also reported year-on-year declines across handle and revenue.
Total handle for the month amounted to $115.6m. This was 5.6% lower than $122.4m in June 2022 and also 21.7% behind the $147.7m posted in May this year.
Players wagered $105.7m online and $9.9m betting at retail sportsbooks across the state.
In terms of revenue, this reached $7.1m in June. This was 15.5% lower than $8.4m in the same month last year and 57.2% less than $16.6m in May.
Of this total, $6.8m was generated online, while just $348,584 came from retail betting.
Diamond Jo in Dubuque and its FanDuel sportsbook remained the market leader. The casino posted $2.9m in revenue off a $28.1m handle during the month.
Wild Rose in Jefferson and DraftKings placed second with $1.1m in revenue from $17.9m in bets. Diamond Jo in Worth, which also has a FanDuel sportsbook, was next with $978,738 off a $10.6m handle.
Total sports betting tax in June amounted to $570,976, while players won $108.5m.
