Operators shared the wealth as Iowa’s betting handle grew month-on-month for the first time since March in August.
iGaming Business and Ficom Leisure are delighted to present the Iowa sports betting Dashboard, providing a monthly breakdown of the latest figures from the Hawkeye State’s regulated gambling market.
The data will be updated monthly following the official release of figures from the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.
Iowa’s online and retail operators welcomed $108.4m of wagers during the final month before the start of the NFL season, up 116% year-on-year and 21% compared to July 2021.
Despite the uptick in handle, revenue for the state’s operators was down 14% month-on-month to $6.6m.
The split among operators was far more balanced than in previous months, with market leaders FanDuek and DraftKings experiencing a decline in market share, while smaller operators saw their shares of the market increase.
