Gateway Casinos & Entertainment was forced to close all of its land-based casinos in Ontario due to a system-wide IT outage.
The operator announced the temporary closure of its casino locations yesterday (April 16) as a result of the outage the details of which were not disclosed.
Gateway counts the Casino Rama in Orillia and Cascades Casino in Chatham among its casino properties in the Canadian province, while it also operates locations in Sarnia, London, Woodstock, Clinton and Hanover.
It is not yet clear when the casinos will reopen, with Gateway encouraging players to check its social media pages for further updates.
“Earlier today all Gateway casino sites across Ontario experienced a system-wide IT outage,” Gateway said in the statement publishes yesterday. “We have made the decision to close all locations until further notice as we work to correct the issue.
“We apologize for the inconvenience.”
