News

MGM Resorts International has pledged $25,000 in funding to an LGBTQ+ entrepreneurship organisation in Nevada.

The funding was issued to the Nevada Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (GLCCNV) during a Pride Month event. June has been known as Pride Month in the US since 1999.

Funds will support the GLCCNV’s efforts to support members of the LGBTQ+ community in Nevada with entrepreneurship and business opportunity.

Jyoti Chopra, chief people, inclusion and sustainability officer at MGM Resorts, said the group was “honored” to support the GLCCNV.

“Everyone deserves equal opportunity to flourish,” Chopra said. “We take immense pride in being part of a community that celebrates diversity and embraces inclusion.

“MGM Resorts is honored to support the GLCCNV in their mission of uplifting LGBTQ+ community through entrepreneurship and opportunity.”

MGM has in place various initiatives to help promote diversity, equity and inclusion in its business and the wider industry.

These include Supplier Diversity Program, which promotes its support for diverse-owned businesses, fostering an environment of acceptance and opportunity.

MGM was also among the first organizations across gaming and hospitality to offer same-sex health benefits to employees in 2004.
