New Hampshire sets record sports betting handle in December

News

The New Hampshire Lottery has reported a new record sports betting handle for December 2020, though the US state also experienced a slight month-on-month fall in revenue.

Gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the month amounted to $4.5m, down 6.3% from the record $4.8m that was set in November 2020.

This was despite players spending a record $51.6m on sports betting during the month, up 11.0% from $46.5m in November.

Mobile sports wagering accounted for $3.7m of overall GGR in December, which was 2.6% lower than in November, though players spending on mobile was up 12.3% from $38.9m to $43.7m.

In terms of retail, GGR for DraftKings’ land-based activity stood at $830,584, down 14.0% from November, but as was the case with mobile, players wagering increased 5.3% month-on-month to $8.0m.

New Hampshire only launched in regulated sports betting market on December 30, 2019, so there are no year-on-year comparable figures for the month.

DraftKings operates both mobile and retail sports betting in the state on an exclusive basis.
