Payment platform Paysafe has began processing online deposits and payments in New York, after the state’s mobile sports betting market opened earlier this month.
New York marks the 18th state that Paysafe now supports payments in, using its payments gateway.
Six operators are currently live in the state. Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, FanDuel and Rush Street went live on January 8, the day the market opened, and BetMGM followed on January 17.
Pointsbet went live in the New York yesterday (January 25) after receiving approval from the state’s regulator, the New York State Gaming Commission.
After the state’s tender process concluded, nine operators were recommended for mobile sports betting licenses.
Zac Cutler, who last year was appointed to lead Paysafe’s North America business, said: “Payments and affiliate marketing play essential roles in customer conversion and the growth of igaming brands and the wider market.”
“We’re proud to have supported the ongoing expansion of the North American online gaming space in 2021 through 2022, with our recent entry into New York – a pivotal market that will hopefully galvanize broader US states and Canadian provincial regulation.”
