Pennsylvania renews Mount Airy Casino Resort license

News

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) unanimously voted to renew the category 2 casino license of Mount Airy #1, operator of Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County.

The renewed license will run for a period of five years, with the PGCB having ruled that the casino fulfilled the obligations under its previously approved casino operator’s license.

In reaching its decision, the PGCB held a public input hearing in Paradise Township, the host municipality of the casino, and also consulted with local government officials, community groups and the PA State Police.

In addition, the PGCB spoke with the Gaming Control Board’s Office of Enforcement Counsel, Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement, Office of Compulsive and Problem Gaming, and Bureau of Casino Compliance.

Since opening in October 2007, Mount Airy Casino Resort has generated $2.98bn in gross revenue and returned approximately $1.33bn to Pennsylvania in tax revenue.

Mount Airy Casino Resort currently operates 1,632 slot machines and 84 table games, along with FoxBet retail and online sportsbooks, and both FoxBet and PokerStars igaming websites through PlayMountAiry.com.

The resort employs 861 people persons and also operates a 284-room hotel at the same location.
