Scientific Games has named Jim Bombassei as senior vice president of investor relations, in a dual role that also covers its free-to-play gaming subsidiary SciPlay Corporation.
He joins from mass media conglomerate, where he held a range of roles after joining in the early 1990s, finishing his tenure as senior vice president of investor relations and treasurer. He previously worked for accounting giant Ernst & Young.
In his new position Bombassei will be tasked with managing relationships with the supplier’s investors and the broader financial community. He will also serve as an advisor to its executive leaderships team.
“We are excited to have Jim join our financial leadership team,” Scientific Games chief financial officer Mike Eklund said
“He brings significant investor relationships and corporate finance experience that will be a benefit to Scientific Games, SciPlay and our investor community.”
Bombassei added that it was an exciting time to join the business.
“Over the last year, Scientific Games has shown how it continues to deliver the games, products and technologies that operators and players want most right now,” he explained.
“There’s a huge opportunity ahead for both Scientific Games and SciPlay to innovate for the future and continue to lead the industry across all platforms, including land-based and digital, sports betting and mobile gaming.”
He becomes the supplier’s second major hire of the year, after Glen Saville was brought in from New Zealand’s statutory racing and betting operator Tab NZ as senior director of global trading.
